As one of the oldest international trust jurisdictions, Bermuda is known as a premier jurisdiction for trusts and other private client structures. Bermuda serves a broad spectrum of international businesses and high net worth clients and this year we proudly hosted the Transcontinental Trusts Forum: International Forum 2016
This Transcontinental Trusts conference has established itself over the last 31 years as the premier trust event in the private client practitioner’s diary and this is the second time that it was held outside Europe. Running May 9 – 10 2016, at the Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda, the Transcontinental Trusts conference event featured over 70 leading international trust experts and distinguished speakers. And more good news: it’s due to be back in Bermuda next year from May 22nd to 23rd 2017.
MJM Director, Fozeia Rana-Fahy chaired the Trust Litigation stream which included a session presented by MJM Directors Hil de Frias and Andrew Martin with Richard Wilson QC of Serle Court: “On a Sticky Wicket: Exiting a Difficult Trusteeship”. Their PowerPoint presentation is available here.
Furthermore, MJM Senior Associate, Louise Charleson, conducted an interview with Jim Edmondson, Head of International Trusts and Private Client, Mourant Ozannes, about his career as a private client lawyer spanning over 40 years. The aim was to give an insight & tips for ‘rising stars’ embarking on a career in this specialist area of law.
MJM Limited was also proud to be a sponsor of the Transcontinental Trusts: Bermuda Forum.
