In addition to MJM Limited’s (“MJM”) market-leading international corporate finance practice, MJM has also been active in a variety of local transactions, the most notable of which related to:

  • The Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport
    • The Airport Redevelopment Project proposed by the Government of Bermuda will see the construction of a new state-of-the-art terminal to meet the growing demand by passengers. The new terminal will also house a food and beverage concession which will be operated by Bermuda Travel Concessions, LLC (“BTC”). BTC is the result of a partnership between Dennie O’Connor and Jennifer Ysseldyke, Bermudians with a good reputation locally, and the SSP Group plc., a global leader in the business of creating and operating restaurants, bars, and cafés in airports around the world.
    • MJM was tasked to assist the parties in negotiating and setting up the new entity, BTC, and, after the concession was awarded, to assist with the relevant regulatory applications and licences. We are pleased to have worked alongside the partners of BTC and look forward to seeing the wonderful facilities at the new terminal.
  • Estera
    • Estera is one of the largest corporate administration, private client and trust service providers on island and also has offices in eleven other jurisdictions. Ocorian, an award-winning provider of bespoke administration and fiduciary services, sought out Estera and offered to merge their respective operations. Once merged, the Ocorian group will form a global corporate service giant and fund administration leader which will operate in eighteen jurisdictions worldwide. The role of MJM has been to provide post-completion assistance by evaluating the regulatory landscape, providing advice and assisting with the relevant applications to the authorities.
  • Marsh & McLennan Companies (“MMC”) and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (“JLT”)
    • MMC is focused on creating a stronger and more dynamic group of companies and its most recent step in this process was the acquisition of JLT. MMC has since commenced with a plan of reorganising and integrating the various newly acquired companies into the group. MJM assisted MMC with the reorganisation and integration process by assisting and advising on various mergers and acquisitions, drafting transaction documents, and assisting with the necessary regulatory approvals and filings.
